Five years ago my dad bought a rather ropey Regal one-row melodeon with the intention of having a go at restoring it, but didn't get very far. Now I'm going to have a go.

To start if off, helped by a friend, I took it apart last night to see what needs doing, and today I've taken a few photos to help me plan.

't Smidge, a traditional Belgian tune...

Provoked by the vote for the UK to leave the EU, and inspired by Lester's Tune a Day, I decided to develop my melodeon skills and repetoire by learning and recording a tune from a different member state each month. Here's the plan - liable to change at any time and suggestions to fill in the blanks or of better tunes very, very welcome!

Die Forelle, written by Schubert in 1817...

Starting a weeks leave, I began it by spending a fair chunk of the Friday afternoon and Sunday morning upgrading my pokerwork - and don't think the results are half bad. This is a photo-heavy account of changing the keyboard.
